How to store

Airtight, dry. Brown sugar: sealed hard to keep moist; rescue hard lumps with a terra cotta disk or apple slice briefly then remove.

Food safety

Sugar doesn't support bacterial growth easily when dry; wet syrups can mold. Discard if so.

Pest attractant (ants). Hot sugar syrups cause severe burns. Handle candy stages carefully.
